This is something of an update post on what of my Get Informed posts.
That post being this one:
Get Informed: Net Neutrality
So here's me attempting to explain this issue and what it means for the FCC to vote against Net Neutrality.
So what just happened?
Title II protects the internet. It doesn't necessarily mean that without Title II, the internet goes up in fire arms.
But it's not something to take lightly either.
The FCC isn't saying, "That's it, no internet for you America, time to be censored from everything like North Korea". But they are overturning a law put in place during the Obama administration, the aforementioned Title II. Some, in fact, the majority of Americans feel that without Title II, our Net Neutrality is in danger.
We still need to protect Title II. It seems ridiculous that this administration is more concerned with overturning things from the previous administration than anything.
This is Ajit Pai's argument:
Another argument [Pai] makes against this is that when the government inserts itself into the Internet’s issues then it stifles its innovation and growth.
This post will be continued later, hope you come back to read more if you read this.
Thanks.
